Aging-in-Place Home Design & Renovation Services in Metro Vancouver
We don’t just write about aging-in-place design — we assess and renovate real homes across Metro Vancouver.
Beyond Ages: A Home Design Guide for Aging in Place teaches you how to plan an age-friendly home yourself. If you’d rather have a Registered Architectural Technologist walk through your own house, flag the real risks, and manage the renovation for you — that’s what this is.
YOUR FREE HOME SAFETY ASSESSMENT INCLUDES
A 45–60 minute in-home (or video) walkthrough with Aryo Falakrou, Registered Architectural Technologist, covering:
- Hazard identification — bathrooms, entries, stairs, lighting, and flooring, the areas where falls actually happen
- A written, prioritized plan — what to fix first, what can wait, and what can be phased over time
- Ballpark budget guidance — realistic Metro Vancouver renovation costs before you commit to anything
- Design options that don’t look clinical — safety and accessibility integrated into a home you still love
No obligation, no pressure — just a clear picture of what your home needs and what it would cost to fix it.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Most homes are built for a moment in time, not for a lifetime. As mobility and balance change, the same staircase, bathroom, or front step that never bothered you can become the reason a move becomes necessary. Planning ahead — even a few small, well-chosen changes — is almost always cheaper, less disruptive, and safer than reacting after a fall or a health scare.
WHO IS BEHIND THIS
Aryo Falakrou is a Registered Architectural Technologist with over 37 years of design, construction, and renovation experience across the Lower Mainland — and the author of Beyond Ages: A Home Design Guide for Aging in Place, an Amazon best-seller. The book shares the thinking; this service applies it directly to your house.
